Little Rock Trojans Strive For Sun Belt's Record Number Of Wins

University of Arkansas at Little Rock

The Little Rock Trojans men’s basketball team is facing Arkansas State University at home Tuesday in their second to last game of the season.

Last month the team broke the school’s in-season record of wins set in 1987/88. Steve Sullivan, sports director at KATV, said the Trojans have a chance to set yet another record for the Sun Belt Conference, thanks in part to new coach Chris Beard.

If the University of Arkansas at Little Rock team wins tonight its record will be 27-3.

“No sunbelt team has ever started the season 27-3,” he said. "I think it's the best-kept success story in the country."

The team is currently ranked first in the nation, and is hoping for a bid to the NCAA Tournament in New Orleans this month.

Tonight's sold out men's game begins at 7:15p.m.,  the Women's team plays at 5:15 p.m. The Trojans final season game will be at Appalachian State on Thursday.
