After much anticipation, Republican Congressman Tom Cotton is expected to formally enter the race for Senate Tuesday evening, challenging incumbent Mark Pryor.

KUAR’s Michael Hibblen spoke with Roby Brock of Talk Business Arkansas about what's expected at the event in Cotton's hometown of Dardanelle and the campaign ahead.  They also discuss issues that could be used against Cotton by Pryor's campaign.

The race for the Arkansas Senate seat is one of several across the country next year that are expected to decide the balance of power in the Senate.  That is expected to make this the most expensive state race in Arkansas history.

Michael Hibblen was a journalist for KUAR News from May 2009 — December 2022. During his final 10 years with the station, he served as News Director. In January 2023, he was hired by Arkansas PBS to become its Senior Producer/ Director of Public Affairs.
