A former Helena-West Helena police sergeant convicted in a sweeping corruption investigation has been sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison.
Marlene Kalb was convicted last December of extortion and attempt to possess a controlled substance. A federal jury acquitted her on a money-laundering charge.
On Thursday, U.S. District Judge James Moody also sentenced to Kalb to three years of supervised release following her prison sentence.
Kalb was among dozens of people indicted in the investigation called "Operation Delta Blues." Four former law enforcement officers pleaded guilty to various charges.
Police said Kalb twice accepted money to protect drug shipments.
Her attorney has said they'll appeal her convictions.
