Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport Posts Record Profits But Loses Passengers

Jason Burt

Despite being ranked America's worst airport by Travel and Leisure, Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport saw revenue increase over the last year.

Passenger traffic is down from last year, but the airport is still on track to earn a record amount of net operating income. Through October 31, the airport had total net income of nearly $9 million, or about 4 percent ahead of what was collected in the same period last year.

The increased income comes despite over a 5 percent decline in passenger traffic. In the first 10 months of the year about 1.8 million passengers went through the airport, fewer than the 1.9 million passengers who went through the airport in the same period in 2012.
