Underwriting Coordinator

Laurie Pierce is the Underwriting Coordinator for UA Little Rock Public Radio.

As Development Associate, Laurie helps obtain corporate support for UA Little Rock Public Radio. She works with foundations, corporations and businesses who are interested in underwriting public radio programming. 

Laurie has a journalism background and spent 13 years with the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. 

A native of Houston, Texas, Laurie earned her B.A. in Journalism from the University of Texas at Austin in 1989. She has resided in central Arkansas since 1990 and is thrilled to be rearing her sons in Little Rock. James Richard attends Central High, and Robert attends Pulaski Heights Middle School. Laurie is a Pulaski County Master Gardener, a member of Little Rock Metro Rotary and a student at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock College of Business working toward a baccalaureate degree in marketing.

The Central Arkansas Library System presents the 11th annual Arkansas Literary Festival April 24th through 27th at the Central Arkansas Library System Main Library, the Hillary Rodham Clinton Children's Library and at multiple downtown venues in Little Rock.

The festival hosts more than 80 authors of note including best-selling novelist Catherine Coulter, along with journalists, artists and politicians such as songwriter Rhett Miller and Congressman John Lewis.

Performance Today’s “Piano Puzzler,” Bruce Adolphe, will be the guest of honor at Bravo!, a fundraising dinner benefiting the UCA Music Department, on March 21 in Conway.

Adolphe, a composer, performer and author, will perform his puzzlers on the stage of Reynolds Performance Hall, and dinner guests will also enjoy selections from Adolphe’s recent new work for string quartet, Mary Cassatt: Scenes From Her Life.

The Arkansas Literary Festival has expanded to more than 80 authors in locations on both sides of the river from Thursday, April 18 to Sunday, April 21.
