Arts Scene: The 2019 Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival

Facebook

The 2019 Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival has come and gone, and if you didn't make the trip to Spa City last month, we've got just the thing.

UA Little Rock Public Radio's resident movie buff Sarah Kellogg is our guest this week, and breaks down some of the festival's 100 plus screenings.

Sarah guides us through some interviews she did throughout the festival with filmmakers, subjects and organizers. We'll hear from the festival's organizers, incoming Executive Director Karina Nagin and Programming Director Jessie Fairbanks.

We'll then hear from a few filmmakers. Director Gorman Bechard talks about his film "Pizza: A Love Story", producer Catherine Rierson talks about "Mossville: When Great Trees Fall", director Marlen Vinayo talks about "Cachada: The Opportunity", and producer Amitai Ben-Abba, director Molly Stuart and the film's subject Atalya Ben-Abba talk about "Objector".

Daniel Breen is News Director of Little Rock Public Radio.
Sarah Kellogg was a Politics and Government reporter for KUAR from November 2018- August 2021.
