In downtown Little Rock, a masterpiece is slowly taking shape.
Formerly known as the Arkansas Arts Center, the newly-reimagined Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts is on track for a grand opening in May 2022. The new facility, designed by MacArthur "Genius Grant" winner Jeanne Gang, already cuts an imposing figure despite still being under construction.
This week on Arts Scene, we take you inside the work in progress. Our guide is the museum's director, Dr. Victoria Ramirez, who shows us the highlights of the new facility. She's joined by Gang, and landscape architect Kate Orff of SCAPE. You'll also hear from board chair Van Tilbury and building committee chair Harriet Stephens.
