Opera In The Rock is staging Italian-American composer Gian Carlo Menotti's The Old Maid and the Thief, which had its debut on NBC Radio in 1939.
OITR Acting Artistic Director Kate Sain and the show's director Kevin Lambert spoke with the Arts Scene about the challenges (and the joys) of adapting a radio opera to the stage while paying homage to its roots on the air.
The show is on Friday, August 23 and Saturday, August 24 at 7:30 p.m., and at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 25 at the Studio Theatre in downtown Little Rock.
