Clintons Return To Arkansas For 25th Anniversary Retrospective

25 years after he took office as the country’s chief executive, former President Bill Clinton returned to Arkansas to look back on his eight years in office.

Clinton joined his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and former chief campaign strategist James Carville in a conversation at the Clinton Presidential Center’s Frank and Kula Kumpuris Distinguished Lecture Series.

The pre-lecture soundtrack of '90s hits added to the nostalgic tone of the evening, as numerous former campaign aides and political allies gathered at Little Rock’s Statehouse Convention Center; steps away from the Old State House where Clinton first announced his candidacy for president.

Notable guests included Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, former Arkansas Governor Jim Guy Tucker, former Little Rock Mayor Lottie Shackleford, former U.S. Senators David and Mark Pryor, Human Rights Campaign President Chad Griffin, and former NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe Gen. Wesley Clark.

The event was preceded by a signing event of Hillary Clinton’s new book. Other events celebrating the 25th anniversary of Bill Clinton’s inauguration include a discussion held at his alma mater Georgetown University and an appearance on late-night talk show Conan.
