Govenor's Art Award: Metalpoint With Marjorie Williams-Smith,

Aj Smith and Marjorie Williams-Smith hold some of their artwork in the choir loft overlooking the sanctuary of the Cathedral of St. Andrew in Little Rock where they’ve been members for more than 30 years.

Metalpoint artist Marjorie Williams-Smith is known for her intricate drawings and flowers in metalpoint and is credited for her design on the Congressional Medal of Honor presented by President Bill Clinton in 1999 to the members of the Little Rock Nine. This year, she received a Governor’s Arts Award for individual artist. Williams-Smith has recently retired as a professor in the University of Arkansas at Little Rock where she worked for 33 years.
