HUD Secretary Ben Carson To Visit Little Rock As New Housing Restrictions Proposed

C-SPAN

Ben Carson, the one-time presidential candidate and current Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, is making several stops in North Little Rock on Tuesday. It comes as Carson is proposing increasing rent and work requirements for HUD tenants.

He’ll visit Silver City Courts in North Little Rock at 8:30 a.m., Parris Towers at 18th and Broadway in Little Rock at 9:30 a.m., and Our House, a non-profit that aims to empower the homeless and near-homeless at 12:15 p.m.

Carson will be joined on part of the tour by US Congressman French Hill (R-2nd District). His tour may be met with a display of opposition as well. Arkansas Community Organizations plans to demonstrate along with members of the Arkansas Poor People’s Campaign – modeled off the goals of Martin Luther King, Jr.
