Two Arkansas congressmen and the state's lieutenant governor are backing Marco Rubio for the Republican presidential nomination, throwing their support behind the U.S. senator from Florida two days after former Gov. Mike Huckabee ended his White House bid.
Rubio's campaign on Wednesday announced endorsements from U.S. Reps. Rick Crawford and Steve Womack and Lt. Gov. Tim Griffin.
Crawford represents east Arkansas' 1st Congressional District and Womack represents northwest Arkansas' 3rd District.
Griffin is a former congressman who was elected lieutenant governor in 2014.
Most of the state's top Republicans had backed Huckabee, who ended his campaign Monday night after a dismal showing in the Iowa caucuses. Rubio already has the support of several top Arkansas lawmakers, including the state House and Senate majority leaders.
