The final performance of this year’s Arkansas Chamber Singers’ Concert follows the theme Heavenly Home - the title of Shawn Kirchner’s three song cycle. This a cappella work includes three familiar folk hymn tune settings Hallelujah, Angel Band and UnClouded Day each of which are rich in terms of musical textures and tonal colors. Following the heavenly/celestial theme are several other selections by Maurice Durufle, Johannes Brahms, Daniel Gawthrop, Blake Henson, Marques Garrett, and more. Join us as we experience these works in the incredible acoustical space of Christ Episcopal Church in Little Rock. Dr. Joshua Brown will be guest conductor for this concert. Dr. Brown serves as Assistant Professor of Music, Director of Choral Activities and Chair of Music Education at Ouachita Baptist University where he teaches courses in choral music, conducting, music education, and voice.
