David Allison and friends will perform a program entitled “Autumn Songs” at Christ Episcopal Church, 509 Scott Street, at 7:00 pm on Friday, October 20. Admission is free, with donations in support of The Van, an organization that helps unsheltered neighbors.
The program is a collection of choral pieces and art songs David Allison has written over the past several years. Many of the works are based on poetry by Emily Dickinson and Christina Rossetti, and address subjects of death, remembrance, hope, nature, and mysticism. Allison is a central Arkansas native and holds a degree in vocal performance from the University of Central Arkansas. He has sung with the choirs of Christ Episcopal Church for over 20 years, and previously composed anthems and other choral works. Allison will be assisted by Shaleah Lorraine, Andrew Buck, and Michael Watson.
The performance will be in the church’s Bowen Hall, and refreshments will be available by donation.
