John Coble, Organist
John Coble has served as Director of Music/Organist at First Presbyterian Church in Athens, Georgia since 2013, and is part-time instructor of organ at the University of Georgia. He has served churches in Georgia, Indiana, and North Carolina, and has performed across the country and abroad. He holds degrees from Augusta College, Florida State University, and Indiana University, studying with John Schaeffer, Michael Corzine, and Marilyn Keiser. His recital will include works that were significant to organist Raymond Martin (1921-2018), Professor of Music at Agnes Scott College (Decatur, GA, 1950-1987), and Organist at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer (Atlanta, GA, 1963-1993). Coble’s program will include works by J.S. Bach, Dan Locklair, Felix Mendelssohn, and Louis Vierne.
