On this week's Arts Scene, a spooky look at Ballet Arkansas's world-premiere season opener.
The city's professional dance company is kicking off its 41st season with "Sleepy Hollow," an adaptation of Washington Irving's haunting tale of the Headless Horseman.
Ballet Arkansas's Associate Artistic Director Catherine Fothergill and Executive and Artistic Director Michael Fothergill fill us in on the details of the multimedia performance, which will run from Oct. 18 through 20 at the UA Pulaski Tech CHARTS Theater in North Little Rock.
We also take some time this week to remember author and literary critic Harold Bloom. Bloom died on Oct. 14 at age 89.
Bloom was a literary scholar who often defended the Western Canon of literature, and in particular the works of William Shakespeare.
Bloom spoke with Arts Scene's Ann Nicholson in 2001, shortly after the publishing of his book How to Read and Why.
