Arts Scene: Arkansas Rep's New Season/'Cool Globes' At The Clinton Center

With life slowly returning to pre-pandemic normal, arts organizations across Arkansas are welcoming patrons back with open arms.

The Arkansas Repertory Theatre has been on hiatus since last year's production of "Ann" written by Holland Taylor and starring legendary actress Elizabeth Ashley. Now, The Rep is turning the spotlight on the stage again, albeit in a slightly more bucolic setting.

Arkansas Rep executive artistic director Will Trice gives us a preview of the new summer/fall season, featuring three outdoor performances in venues around Little Rock.

Also in this week's show, the Clinton Foundation's Ben Thielemier takes us on a tour of "Cool Globes: Hot Ideas for a Cooler Planet", the latest art installation on the grounds of the Clinton Presidential Center.

The exhibition features 26 globes, including four done by local artists, offering up solutions to climate change. It's the first stop in Little Rock for the traveling exhibit, which was first announced at the Clinton Global Initiative in 2005.

"Cool Globes" is on view on the grounds of the Clinton Presidential Center, which is set to reopen its indoor space on July 1.
