The director of Arkansas' lottery says the organization plans to fill the job of a former security official who stole and cashed nearly a half-million dollars' worth of scratch-off tickets.
Lottery Director Bishop Woosley said Monday that he expects the position to be filled fairly soon but didn't specify when.
Former deputy security director Remmele Mazyck pleaded guilty in federal court on Friday to wire fraud and money laundering charges.
He will be sentenced later. The lottery says Mazyck cashed more than 22,000 tickets worth about $478,000.
Woosley questioned Mazyck about the tickets in October and fired him in November.
Officials allege Mazyck used his own security clearance to code tickets from the lottery's warehouse as promotional giveaways.
Woosley ended those promotions but is continuing similar marketing through retailers.
