Little Rock's Bill & Hillary Clinton National Airport is resuming normal operations after Tuesday's dense fog prohibited air travel.
The fog, which began in the early morning and continued into the nighttime hours, caused many delays and cancellations, leaving passengers to re-book reservations and stay in the city until Wednesday morning.
According to spokesman Shane Carter, the chaos created a temporary crowding issue, which should be resolved by the end of the week.
"[Carriers] are also dealing with passengers that were already booked for flights today," Carter said. "As you can imagine, it's very crowded here at the airport. ... It may take a few days for everything to get back to normal."
The airport has also implemented a plan for this weekend's winter weather, which is expected to enter the state Thursday and may cause icy runways and decreased visibility.
"We have not only multiple crews that will be working, but we have a variety of tools and equipment," Carter said. "If the storm does materialize, our crews will be here around the clock with the needed equipment to keep our runway open and also as safe as possible."
Passengers leaving and arriving in Little Rock are encouraged to check travel conditions before their set departures.
