The nation’s oldest company to continually bottle water, based in Hot Springs, is being acquired by an investor group in Kansas City. Collins Pugh the Director of Marketing for Mountain Valley Spring Water Company said in addition to a change in control of the company they are increasing production.
“Great Range Capital has become our majority shareholder of Mountain Valley Spring Company. Everything’s continuing, business as usual. We’ve added an extra line at our facility and we’ve added some extra employees in the manufacturing side as well as our sales side,” said Pugh.
With an expanded production capacity and an infusion of capital Pugh said Mountain Valley plans to expand distribution.
“Mountain Valley competes in the premium market against San Pellegrino, Apani, and Perrier. Working with Great Range Capital we’re extending our on-premise sales so we’re hoping you’re going to find Mountain Valley in more restaurants all across the country and in more retail accounts, grocery stores, you’ll hopefully see this Arkansas brand all across the country,” said Pugh.
Mountain Valley is already carried in parts of all 50 states. The details including the price of the acquisition have not yet been released.
