The Arkansas Department of Emergency Management and the Federal Emergency Management Agency has announced that more than $2 million has been approved to help Arkansans recover from last month's severe storms.

FEMA has approved nearly $1.7 million in Housing Assistance to individuals and families in Faulkner, Pulaski, Randolph and White counties whose property was damaged or destroyed. More than $355,000 was also approved to be used to repair or replace damaged or destroyed personal property.

Residents affected by the April 27 storms, tornadoes and floods are also eligible for low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration. The agency has approved $721,100 in loan money.

The deadline to apply for assistance is June 30. Tornado survivors can register online at disasterassistance.gov or call 1-800-621-3362.
