A lawyer says a man charged with capital murder in Arkansas has been declared fit for trial after a mental evaluation.
The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports a lawyer for Darrell Dennis says his client can stand trial. He adds Dennis won't challenge the finding.
Dennis is charged in the May 2013 kidnapping, robbery and shooting death of 18-year-old Forrest Abrams in Little Rock. According to the newspaper, Dennis was free at the time despite multiple felony charges and parole violations. His parole-violation history has led to a review of the state's parole system and to a change in leadership and policy.
Prosecutors had asked for the mental exam earlier this year, after Dennis asked to represent himself in trial court.
