Former President Clinton Set For Rallies In Northwest Arkansas

Former President Bill Clinton is due in northwestern Arkansas for a rally intended to draw Democrats to the polls next month.

Clinton is to speak Tuesday outside the Union building at the University of Arkansas at midday, then head to Rogers for another speech.

Northwest Arkansas has long been a Republican stronghold, but Democrats hope to draw support from many of the university's 26,000 students.

The former president and ex-Arkansas governor put three college campuses on a two-day agenda - scheduling visits Monday for the University of Central Arkansas in Conway and Arkansas State University in Jonesboro.

Today's typical college student would have little working knowledge of Clinton's time in office. When Clinton left the White House in 2001, today's college seniors would have been about 10 years old.
