The nationally watched U.S. Senate race in Arkansas is nearing the end much the same way it began 15 months ago: with Democratic U.S. Sen. Mark Pryor and Republican Rep. Tom Cotton trading familiar jabs over who will put the state's interests first.
The Senate rivals and the candidates in the state's high-profile governor's race made their closing arguments to voters Monday on the eve of a midterm election where Republicans hope to complete a sweep of statewide offices.
Pryor cast himself as a champion of bipartisanship and said Cotton would lead to gridlock, while Cotton accused the Democratic incumbent of siding too often with President Barack Obama.
Democratic gubernatorial hopeful Mike Ross and Republican Asa Hutchinson also crisscrossed the state making their case to voters in the governor's race.
