Boone County Officials Say 2 Charged With Cattle Rustling

Boone County officials say two men are charged with felony theft of property after 50 head of cattle were taken from a number of farms and sold at auctions in Arkansas and Missouri.

The sheriff's office said Wednesday one man was picked up at a Springdale auction house with stolen cattle, and that another man was arrested, as well.

Sheriff Mike Moore said records from area livestock sales showed the pair made more than $67,000 in cattle sales over the last three months and that investigators were able to discover that some of the cattle sold had been taken from a 250-acre farm near Alpena.

Boone County jailers said Wednesday that no lawyers were listed for the men, and that they had posted bond and been released pending court appearances.
