School Bus Driver Accused Of Driving While Intoxicated

A school bus driver has been arrested on several charges, including driving while intoxicated after police say she was speeding while transporting students in Ashley County.
 
Arkansas State Police say the driver was arrested Friday afternoon after she was recorded traveling more than 25 mph over the speed limit in Hamburg. She faces also faces charges of speeding and endangering the welfare of a minor.
 
Hamburg School District officials say the suspect was taking about 29 students home from school at the time, but the students were safe and were taken home via alternate transportation. No injuries were reported.
 
The school district says the bus driver has been suspended with pay.
