Police Say Body Found Is Likely That Of Missing Boy, Father Held Without Bond

Malik Drummond

Police say they've found what they believe to be the remains of an Arkansas boy who disappeared from his father's home last year.

Searcy police say human remains were found Wednesday in a field in a rural part of Jackson County, about 100 miles northeast of Little Rock. Police say they believe the remains are of Malik Drummond, who was 2 years old when he went missing in November 2014.

Sgt. Steve Hernandez wouldn't say how police knew to search the area, which is northeast of the boy's home. Hernandez says the remains have been sent to the state crime lab for analysis.

Malik's father, Jeffery Clifton, was arrested Tuesday night on suspicion of capital murder and abuse of a corpse late Tuesday night. He's being held without bond.

White County Circuit Court officials say case documents, including probable cause affidavits that may contain details about the investigation, have been sealed.
