Season's First Snowfall In Forecast For Parts Of Arkansas

A snow-covered Pinnacle Mountain.
Rhonda Burton

Snow is possible in parts of Arkansas this weekend as a storm system brings a strong cold front to the state.

The National Weather Service says parts of southern Arkansas could see thunderstorms on Friday night as the storms move through the state. Temperatures will drop rapidly behind the front on Saturday, and rain will transition to snow in many areas.

Forecasters say parts of northern Arkansas could see 1 to 3 inches of snow with some higher amounts possible in higher elevations.

The chances for snow extend to the Little Rock and Hot Springs areas, where a dusting to 1 inch of snow is possible on Saturday.
