Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson has announced a $100,000 appropriation for The Morgan Nick Foundation, which provides support for the families of missing children.

Hutchinson said Friday that funding from the Emergency Proclamation Fund had been approved by the Legislature.

The funding announcement comes on the 21st anniversary of the disappearance of 6-year-old Morgan Nick, who was abducted from a little league field in Alma, Arkansas, on June 9, 1995. The girl remains missing.

Nick's mother, Colleen Nick, who started the foundation, says the money will be used to increase the organization's education and intervention programs. She says that will include more resources to educate children and families on how to prevent abductions and more help for the families of missing children.
