Arkansas has added more than 1,500 new coronavirus cases in the past three days as more than 900 Arkansans have died from COVID-19.
The Arkansas Department of Health said on Saturday it received an additional 515 positive coronavirus test results, and another 687 Sunday. An increase of 350 new cases Monday brought the state's total to 65,727.
An additional 35 Arkansans died over the weekend bringing the state’s death toll to 908. 10 additional Arkansans were hospitalized with COVID-19 Monday for a total of 399, with 74 patients on a ventilator.
As of Monday Arkansas had 6,062 active COVID-19 cases while 58,757 are considered to have recovered from the disease.
Meanwhile the Little Rock School District says three students and three staff members have tested positive for the coronavirus over the past week. Those cases came from David O. Dodd, Romine and Washington elementary schools, as well as Pinnacle View and Cloverdale middle schools.
Staff and students at numerous other schools are also in self-quarantine due to possible exposure to the virus.
