issues_that_matter_collage.jpg

How does the rate of literacy impact Arkansas and how has the COVID-19 pandemic exposed the need for greater literacy both in children and adults.

In the latest Issues That Matter forum, we ask our panelists about the state of literacy in the Natural State and what can be done to improve it.

Panelists include:

  • Sherra Bennett - Interim Executive Director of AR Kids Read
  • Nancy Leonhardt - Executive Director of the Adult Learning Alliance in Arkansas
  • Marci Robertson - Executive Director of Literacy Action of Central Arkansas
  • Sherry Chambers -  K-12 Literacy Director of the Little Rock School District

This series is presented by the Central Arkansas Library System, the League of Women Voters of Pulaski County and KUAR FM 89.1. This forum was recorded on Zoom April 22, 2021, and has been edited for time and clarity.
