KATV-Channel 7

Little Rock Police are investigating a reported shooting at Park Plaza Mall Friday.

An LRPD spokesperson confirmed to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette that the shooting was an isolated incident. The LRPD dispatch log shows a call for an “active aggressor” incident going out at 1:45 p.m. Friday.

Little Rock Police say two people sustained non-life-threatening injuries. As of Friday afternoon, police say there were no fatalities connected with the incident.

Little Rock Mayor Frank Scott Jr. issued a statement on the incident Friday afternoon.

"The careless, senseless and criminal actions of two individuals today jeopardized the lives and safety of residents and visitors. We are praying for the victims of this incident and are hopeful they make a full recovery," the statement reads.

"Gun violence is unacceptable at any time or in any place. We trust those responsible for this will be held fully accountable for their dangerous and reckless decisions.

"We are grateful to our law enforcement officers, first responders, mall security and employees, and everyone who acted quickly to ensure safety and protect others."

Park Plaza Mall issued a statement after the incident, saying the mall would be closed for the remainder of Friday.

“Our hearts go out to the individuals affected in this incident, along with their loved ones. The safety and wellbeing of our guests and the community remains our top priority, and we are fully cooperating with law enforcement in their ongoing investigation."

This story was updated to reflect the accurate number of victims, according to an update from the LRPD.
