Election Day is November 3. Any adult citizen in Arkansas can still register to vote after October 5, but if you want to vote in the midterms you need to be registered by the 5th.
If you aren't registered
You have about a week left. If you want to vote in this election cycle, the registration deadline is October 5.
Am I already registered?
You can check your registration status on the Secretary of State's website using a tool called VoterView. This website will tell you everything, including your polling place, and you can print off a sample ballot. You can even fill out the ballot ahead of time and bring it into the voting booth with you.
How do I register?
Arkansas does not have online voter registration. If you are not currently registered to vote, you can print off an English or Spanish version of the registration form on the Secretary of State's website, request one be mailed to you, or you can usually pick up an application at your local public library.
What if I am unhoused?
If you are unhoused, you can use the courthouse address as your address on the application. In Pulaski County, the courthouse address is 401 West Markham Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72201.
What if I turn 18 before Election Day?
If you are 17 today but will be 18 on Election Day, you can register to vote now.
What if I am a felon?
If you have been convicted of a felony, you can only register to vote if you have completed your sentence (including probation, parolee fines, restitution, etc.).
What if I want to vote absentee?
In Arkansas, you need a reason to vote absentee. Those reasons can be something like disability, illness, or being out of the state during voting season.
October 27 is the last day the county clerk's office will accept an absentee ballot application by mail, so it may be best to send the application earlier. October 30 is the last day to apply in person. When you vote absentee, you need to send a copy of your photo ID with your ballot.
When does early voting start?
Early voting is October 19 through November 2. It ends November 2 at 5 p.m. Polling places are open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends. Each county has their own list of early voting sites. They should all allow early voting at the county clerk's office. Again, these are listed on VoterView.
What do I bring to vote?
When you vote, bring an ID. This can be a driver's license, passport, concealed handgun carry license, college ID or military ID. It doesn't have to be a REAL ID.
When can I vote on Election Day?
Election Day is a full 12-hour day of voting. Polls are open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. If an election goes to a runoff, it will be held on December 1.
