Zafasi to serve as LRPR Director of Development; membership coordinator position open

Little Rock Public Radio is pleased to announce staffing changes in the membership and development department.

Grace Zafasi, who has served since 2022 as LRPR’s Membership Director, has accepted the position of Director of Development.

“I'm excited for the opportunity to take Little Rock Public Radio to the next level with the much-needed funds to produce high quality journalism and provide access to classical music to our community,” Zafasi said. “[General Manager] Jonathan Seaborn and I have been working over the past two years to develop a strategic plan to grow the station at a sustainable pace.”

In her new role, Zafasi will oversee both LRPR’s membership and underwriting departments, leading the stations’ strategic revenue plan and overseeing major giving, grants and foundations. Zafasi says her goal is to increase revenue by 10% year-over-year until meeting a plateau by 2030.

“Moving our station onto digital platforms, growing our podcasts and programs, and increasing local journalism are amazing services we can provide central Arkansas, but everything comes with a cost,” Zafasi said. “Thanks to supporters, and, hopefully even more new supporters, we will be able to achieve those goals to ensure everyone in our communities has access to Little Rock Public Radio.”

Underwriting coordinator LeRoi Emerson will continue to serve in his current role, while a Membership Coordinator position is now vacant.

“I'm excited for the Membership Coordinator position as we are looking for an enthusiastic person to help our team continue to connect with the meat and potatoes of public radio, our everyday listener and supporter! This person will step into the role with a heavy emphasis on volunteer engagement, database management, special events, and community outreach projects,” Zafasi said.

"Grace has been instrumental in driving incredible growth in our membership program during her tenure, showcasing her dedication, talent, and vision for strengthening our connection with the community. Her passion for public radio and commitment to our mission make her the perfect fit to lead our development efforts,” said LRPR General Manager Jonathan Seaborn. “We’re excited to see the impact Grace will have in this new role and can’t wait to share the successes that lie ahead.”
