The state of the arts in Arkansas is good, and that’s been largely due to the efforts of the Arkansas Arts Council.
For more than 50 years, the council has been dedicated to supporting artists in the Natural State through grants, education and special events.
Speaking with the Arts Scene this week are three people dedicated to those missions; the council’s Director Patrick Ralston, Arts in Education Program Coordinator Drekkia Morning, and Special Events/Projects Manager Cheri Leffew.
They speak about the council's efforts to bridge the urban-rural divide, as well as their ongoing projects in schools across the state.
