A prosecutor says no credible new evidence has come up to point to a new suspect in the killings of three West Memphis Cub Scouts 20 years ago.
Eight-year-olds Stevie Branch, Michael Moore and Christopher Byers disappeared 20 years ago Sunday. Their bodies were found the next day. Prosecutor Scott Ellington told The Jonesboro Sun that his office gets calls and tips weekly - but no credible evidence has been presented to change his opinion that the three men originally convicted in the case are guilty.
Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jessie MisskelleyJr. spent 18 years in prison before a plea agreement in 2011 allowed them to go free prior to a retrial. Ellington said it would have been "practically impossible" to retry the case after 18 years.
