Parkview Arts & Science Magnet High School presents the STATE PREMIER of Mean Girls: The Musical. Based on the beloved film by famed writer/actor/producer Tina Fey, Mean Girls explores the journey to authenticity and true friendship in the jungles of high school female social order. Inspired by the 2002 nonfiction book Queen Bees and Wannabees by Rosalind Wiseman, Fey weaves a tale about a girl named Cady who leaves her home in Africa for a new school in America. Though her parents thought this school would be safer, Cady discovers the predators are just as fierce. Cady navigates her way through friend groups until she tops the scale as the “Apex Predator.” She finds, however, that being the Apex Predator comes with its own set of challenges. This coming-of-age story serves as a cautionary tale for all the predators and prey who navigate the social jungles in any school anywhere.
