The Friday night VIP experience happens in and around Café Africa and the Civitan Pavilion and features premium wine from O'Looney's Wine and Liquor with food from the best area restaurants. Lively music will keep you moving while you visit with the Zoo's Animal Ambassadors. Your ticket for Friday night's VIP Night includes admission to the Saturday night "Mane" event.

On April 27, 2024, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will take steps together at nearly 60 PurpleStride events across the nation to honor everyone affected by the disease. It’s an inspirational day to celebrate survivors, honor those we lost and turn the nation purple!

It's World Penguin Day at the Little Rock Zoo! World Penguin Day is an opportunity to raise awareness about the conservation of penguins, including Little Rock Zoo’s African penguins. These birds face various threats, such as habitat loss, overfishing, climate change, and pollution.African penguins play an important role in their ecosystem, both as a food source for sharks and seals and also as predators to small fish, like anchovies and sardines. By hunting in the sea and returning to their colonies on land, penguins transfer important nutrients from marine to terrestrial ecosystems.Join us for our special presentations to celebrate World Penguin Day on Saturday, April 27, 2024….and learn all about this amazing creatures and their wild counterparts. Educate Yourself and Others: Learn about the threats facing African penguins and their habitats from sources like SANCCOB and SAFE. Share this information with friends, family, and on social media to raise awareness.Support Conservation Organizations: Contribute to organizations dedicated to penguin conservation, such as the Little Rock Zoo and the Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds (SANCCOB). By visiting the Zoo, you’re already doing this! A portion of your admission and parking fee is dedicated to conservation groups the Zoo partners with.Adopt Sustainable Practices: Choose sustainable seafood options to reduce the impact of overfishing on penguin food sources. Look for certifications like Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) when purchasing seafood and check Seafood Watch for consumer guides.Reduce Plastic Use: Plastic pollution is a significant threat to marine life, including penguins. Reduce your plastic use, recycle properly (according to your community’s standards), and participate in clean-up events, like the recycling drives hosted throughout the year at the Little Rock Zoo.
The ARTx3 Campus hosts Game on Main, a monthly program providing space for youths in grades 5-12 to play games and socialize. It is held on the fourth Saturday of the month from 1-3 p.m. at The ARTSpace on Main, 623 S. Main St. in Pine Bluff.
Participants can enjoy classic board games like Uno and chess and get into STEAM activities in the computer lab.

The third annual Party at the Plaza benefiting the Arkansas Hospice Family of Care. Saturday, April 27th from 2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. at the Argenta Arts District and The Argenta Plaza, Main Street, North Little Rock, Arkansas. The 2024 festival theme is “Arkansas Roots,” featuring standout musical acts, visual artists, and community services that call Arkansas home. The event will be a community-oriented celebration for all ages with free concerts throughout the afternoon and evening, food trucks, art, children’s activities, and a fun and informative “Care Fair.” Musical acts scheduled to appear in concert on the Plaza Mainstage include co-headlining acts Bonnie Montgomery and Tyler Kinch, Mac Royals, Bias, The Rocktown Sparks, and Bijoux. Additional attractions will include the Artists on the Avenue market and the third annual Michael V. Aureli Compass Award presentation. The Saturday night "Mane" event is the Wild Wines party the public has grown to love at the Zoo with more than 200 wines from O'Looney's to sample and food from dozens of restaurants and catering establishments. Animal ambassadors greet guests and lively music can be found throughout the Zoo!
