Dogtown Throwdown, a vibrant two-day street festival, will close out the season on Friday, October 10, and Saturday, October 11. Main Street in Argenta will be closed from Broadway to 5th St. starting at 4 pm Friday to 10 pm Saturday. The event will be full of family activities, live music and delicious food from all your favorite local restaurants.

Get ready for a fang-tastic time at the Little Rock Zoo’s Howl-O-Ween Parties on the Plaza! Join us for three spook-tacular Saturdays in October, where frightful fun meets delightful surprises!

Dress in your Halloween best and meet enchanting fairy tale characters, explore our playgrounds, or enjoy a spin on the “Scaredy-Cat” Carousel and the Trick-or-Treat Train for a frightfully fun ride! Don’t miss out on our spook-tacular Halloween enrichment activities for the animals—it's a howling good time for the whole family!

The ARTx3 Campus will host a special coloring activity for its next Second Saturday Family FunDay from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at The ARTSpace on Main, 623 S. Main St. The event is free and open to the public.

To coincide with the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff’s Homecoming, visitors are invited to color a sheet made exclusively for this event. Selected finished designs will be posted on Facebook at facebook.com/asc701. This program is sponsored by the Pine Bluff Area Community Foundation and McFarland Eye Care.

Join us for HOWL-O-WEEN at the Zoo!

Ready for a HOWLING good time? We’ve got two spook-tacular Saturdays this October—where giggles meet goosebumps and the whole family can join the fun!

Come in costume! Meet new friends, climb and play in our playgrounds, and take a whirl on the Carousel. Hop aboard the Train for a ride.

And don’t forget—our animals are getting in on the action with boo-tiful Halloween-themed enrichment. Watch them explore, play, and snack in the spirit of the season!

Join the Little Rock Zoo this fall for our Beloved Pet Ofrenda, a heartfelt tribute honoring the memory of our cherished animal companions. Inspired by the Día de Muertos tradition, this vibrant community altar celebrates our animal companions of all kinds—furry, feathered, and scaled.

Bring a photo of your beloved pet and add to the altar anytime during Zoo hours. On Saturdays and Sundays, our Learning & Engagement team will be on hand to assist guests in co-creating the altar.

This is our second year hosting the Beloved Pet Ofrenda, inspired by a partnership between the L.A. Zoo and Plaza de La Raza, a community art school serving historically excluded groups. Their folklorist artist and local families co-created an altar celebrating this important cultural tradition. Now, we’re proud to bring this meaningful experience to Little Rock.
