A documentary film probes the impact that a World War II Japanese American internment camp had on a community in southeast Arkansas, and on later generations. "Relocation, Arkansas: Aftermath of Incarceration" is being shown Friday at 3 p.m. at the Ron Robinson Theater in Little Rock.
Vivienne Schiffer, the film’s director and producer, will be speaking before the screening, then taking questions from the audience afterward. She spoke with KUAR about the personal connections that led her to make the documentary. Schiffer also talked about her outrage that federal officials recently considered housing migrant children separated from their parents in the same area.

The screening is being presented in partnership with the Butler Center for Arkansas Studies and the Central Arkansas Library System. It will be followed at 5 p.m. by the opening of the Butler Center exhibit "Matter of Mind and Heart." It features art created by those held at the Rohwer and Jerome relocation centers in Arkansas focusing on Japanese American identity.
