Massachussets Sen. Elizabeth Warren To Hold Presidential Campaign Town Hall In Arkansas

Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren will be the third Democratic presidential candidate to visit central Arkansas ahead of Super Tuesday.

Warren will host a town hall event at the North Shore Riverwalk Part in North Little Rock on Saturday, Feb. 29. The event will be the second of three Warren will take part in that day; she’s set to appear in Columbia, S.C. before the event, and will hold a town hall in Houston afterward.

Warren visits Arkansas ahead of the state’s March 3 primary, commonly known as Super Tuesday. Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar, former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders have also visited the region since the presidential nomination contest began.

Though bolstered by strong debate appearances, Warren has struggled to find popular support in the first few contests for the Democratic presidential nomination. She’s currently second-to-last in total number of delegates won, ahead of only Klobuchar.

She holds that same position among top-tier Democratic candidates in a recent Talk Business & Politics/Hendrix College Poll, with just under 9% of Arkansans polled saying they would vote for her.

According to a news release, Warren’s campaign was the first to have a physical presence in Arkansas, and continues to employ seven staffers in the state. It marks the 30th state she’s visited since announcing her campaign.

Doors open for the event at 11:30 a.m. with the event beginning at 1 p.m.
