The U.S. and Iran expanded their targets in the latest round of strikes on Friday, as fighting over the control of the Strait of Hormuz reignites fears of an all-out war.

The U.S. and Iran traded fire for the sixth consecutive day on Thursday with U.S. strikes targeting Iranian command centers and missile sites, and Iran targeting U.S. military bases in Gulf countries, as both sides intensified attacks over control of the Strait of Hormuz.

The U.S. military says it's begun its blockade of ships entering or exiting Iran's ports, as Iran vows to assert its own control over the critical Strait of Hormuz.

The U.S. and Iran are fighting for control of the Strait of Hormuz, threatening a return to all-out war after agreeing to a ceasefire last month.

The U.S. and Iran exchanged fire for the third weekend in a row, with strikes stretching into Monday as Iran responded to U.S. attacks by targeting U.S. allies in the region.
