Celebrate World Binturong Day at the Little Rock Zoo!
Ever heard of a binturong? These unique animals, often called "bearcats," are neither bears nor cats—they're fascinating creatures with thick fur, long tails, and a scent that resembles popcorn! Native to the forests of Southeast Asia, binturongs play an important role in their ecosystems by spreading seeds and maintaining forest health.
In the wild, they face threats such as habitat loss and human-wildlife conflict. This World Binturong Day, visit the Zoo to learn how you can make a difference in protecting species like binturongs. Every small action counts in preserving their habitats and ensuring their survival.
All activities are included with regular admission—don’t miss this chance to celebrate one of the most unique residents at the Little Rock Zoo!

This FREE Intermediate course is for all archers who wish to build on their archery experience and take things to the next level! Archers shoot under the guidance of a certified instructor from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and will prove their proficiency under strict shooting criteria to earn their Intermediate Archery patch. Beginners may also join in the fun and learn all about archery, archery equipment, and the various types of archery shooting. Archery is a great way to sharpen skills, build self-esteem, and create a stronger atmosphere for success! Participants will leave with the skills and desire to keep shooting long after class has ended.
The class will be OUTSIDE, so check the weather and wear APPROPRIATE CLOTHES and COMFORTABLE SHOES and bring WATER and BUG SPRAY with you.
