About the Bornean Orangutan Survival Foundation
Over the years, BOSF has grown to work together with local Indonesian communities and the government to help conserve the natural habitats for wild orangutans, currently protecting over 450,000 hectares of rainforest. The organization is continuing to grow their capabilities to further assist in rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing orangutans back into the wild, with over 1,000 orangutans cared for.

About the American Association of Zoo Keepers
The American Association of Zoo Keepers is an organization focused on supporting conservation projects, promoting preservation of natural resources and animal life, and communicating strategies to further improve animal care. Our local Little Rock AAZK Chapter includes a team of zookeepers at the Little Rock Zoo that holds these same values and organizes local events to fundraise for conservation. Some of these other events include Bowling for Rhinos, Bingo nights, animal art events, and others. Keep an eye out for more upcoming events!

“Love Thy Neighbor: Awakening Hearts and Minds,” an interfaith celebration of hope, will be held Thursday, September 3, at Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church (1000 N Mississippi St, Little Rock, AR 72207). The event will also be live-streamed at youtube.com/theinterfaithcenter. The celebration will begin at 6 p.m. CDT.

Love Thy Neighbor is an annual interfaith service that brings central Arkansas faith communities together for an evening of music, shared wisdom, and reflection. Speakers and musicians from various religious backgrounds will share stories, poems, prayers, and songs from their faith traditions. The Interfaith Food Festival will follow the service in the parish hall at Saint Mark’s with delicious vegetarian dishes prepared by local caterers and faith communities.

This year’s speaker is Khentrul Lodrö Thayé Rinpoche, a Tibetan Buddhist monk and teacher. Khentrul Rinpoche is director of Katog Choling, a nonprofit organization based in the United States, and he oversees more than twenty practice groups across North America and in China, Australia, and South Africa, as well as a large retreat center in the mountains of northwest Arkansas.

The event is free and open to the public. While no childcare will be provided, children are welcome at this event.

Join Be Mighty and the Ron Robinson Theater for "Dinner and a Movie" this September in honor of Hunger Action Month. In Arkansas, hunger affects families in every corner of the state, with nearly 1 in 5 Arkansans experiencing food insecurity and many children relying on school and community meal programs throughout the year. Hunger Action Month is an opportunity for communities to come together to raise awareness, share resources, and celebrate the power of food to bring people together.

In this special movie series, we are serving up a delicious twist. Each movie in the series is paired with a recipe featured on screen, bringing a little movie magic from the theater straight to your kitchen. The first twenty-five movie goers (one recipe kit per household) will receive a free recipe kit complete with all the ingredients needed to recreate the film-inspired meal at home. So grab some popcorn, enjoy a great movie, and leave with everything you need to bring a piece of the story home to share.
