The ARTx3 Campus will host the opening reception for the exhibition “Blaque” by Jonathan Wright, from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, at The Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas (ASC), 701 S. Main St. The event is free, and refreshments will be available.

“Blaque” explores how a single shade can carry grief, resilience, tradition, and transformation within the African diaspora. Blending technology with traditional techniques, the artist uses matte black on black paper to prompt slow, intentional analysislooking—revealing layered histories, personal memory, and cultural legacy. The exhibition invites viewers to reflect on their own heritage while confronting how stories can fade unless we choose to see them fully.

Wright is an art instructor at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in visual arts. He completed his Master of Fine Arts in printmaking this year at Arizona State University. His love of working with his hands is what drives him to combine traditional printmaking techniques, such as woodcutting, with modern technology. His current body of work emphasizes the rich history of the African American Community, their experiences and their heritage.

Step into the shadowy world of classic film noir with The Big Sleep, starring Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. Celebrating its 80th anniversary, this stylish mystery follows private detective Philip Marlowe through a labyrinth of crime, corruption, and intrigue. Known for its sharp dialogue and iconic performances, it remains one of the defining films of the genre.

Ages 50-plus are invited to put their problem-solving skills to the test in a fun, friendly and relaxed setting during Golden Hour: Puzzle Competition, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, April 17, at The ARTSpace on Main, 623 S. Main St.

Work independently or as a team to complete puzzles while enjoying conversation, laughter, and a little friendly competition. No experience needed—just bring your curiosity and enjoy the challenge.

Join us Friday, April 17 for an intimate evening with legendary pop star Tiffany!

After earning two U.S. number one hit singles with “I Think We’re Alone Now” and “Could’ve Been,” Tiffany set a record as the youngest female artist to top the Billboard charts with her debut album. In 2000, Billboard ranked Tiffany’s album The Color of Silence as the “Top Ten Best Albums of the Year.” In 2011, she released her country-pop LP Rose Tattoo, embracing the music she grew up on. Her 2016 critically acclaimed A Million Miles marked the first time Tiffany had been a co-producer on her own record. As a writer and co-producer on her 10th studio album, Pieces of Me, Tiffany fused elements of rock and pop, while still showcasing her trademark tendency for big radio friendly choruses.
