The ARTx3 Campus will host the opening reception for the exhibition “Blaque” by Jonathan Wright, from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, at The Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas (ASC), 701 S. Main St. The event is free, and refreshments will be available.
“Blaque” explores how a single shade can carry grief, resilience, tradition, and transformation within the African diaspora. Blending technology with traditional techniques, the artist uses matte black on black paper to prompt slow, intentional analysislooking—revealing layered histories, personal memory, and cultural legacy. The exhibition invites viewers to reflect on their own heritage while confronting how stories can fade unless we choose to see them fully.
Wright is an art instructor at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in visual arts. He completed his Master of Fine Arts in printmaking this year at Arizona State University. His love of working with his hands is what drives him to combine traditional printmaking techniques, such as woodcutting, with modern technology. His current body of work emphasizes the rich history of the African American Community, their experiences and their heritage.

Dark, clever, and hilariously twisted, this comedy classic pairs Billy Crystal and Danny DeVito (who also directs) in a story inspired by Hitchcock’s Strangers on a Train.
With sharp writing and memorable performances, this cult favorite delivers laughs with an edge—and plays perfectly with an audience.

Options may be the MOST Powerful tool you can have in Real Estate! But only if you understand how and when to use them.
We all know that at some point Wholesaling is going to be curtailed, if not totally made illegal. Just like many of the states around us already, the regulatory commissions are making it tougher and tougher to assign contracts.
So what are you going to do?
I see 3 different strategies you can fall back on, but only if you know them and understand them. They are:
1) Pay cash for deals and double close.2) Buy with owner financing temporarily.3) Option the property so you control it for a period of time.
Come learn how the Power of Options can work for you and keep you in the game!
Our in person meetings not only provide knowledge and education that is crucial for your financial future, but also a networking experience that is equally crucial!

The Rock City Film Festival (formerly the Made in Arkansas Film Festival) returns to CALS Ron Robinson Theater for its eighth year on May 15-17, 2026. Rock City was founded in 2019 to showcase the work of Arkansas’s independent filmmakers and has expanded to bring their films from all over the world back home to Arkansas. This year’s festival program offers something for everyone, whether you love comedy, documentaries, horror/thrillers, family-friendly shorts, or Arkansas-made feature films. And if you’re in the mood for something weirder, our now infamous “WTF” block offers adventurous filmgoers a wild ride of experimental and offbeat fare.
True to its original mission, the festival brings filmmakers together not only to watch and celebrate films, but to facilitate collaborative relationships that help to unify and elevate the independent film community as a whole. Q+A sessions and workshops provide an opportunity for filmmakers to meet each other, view each other’s work, and build networks that hopefully lead to even more Arkansas-made films.
Festival directors credit Rock City’s partnership with the Central Arkansas Library System as a huge factor in the festival’s success. “The screen and sound quality in the Ron Robinson Theater are second to none. As a filmmaker, there are few things as exciting as sitting with an audience and watching your film up on the big screen. We love working with CALS to showcase the incredible work being done by filmmakers, actors, and creatives across the state.”
